Cottage. C18, or possibly earlier, with minor later alterations. Timber framed
with painted brick infill and rebuilding ; thatched roof ; brick stack.
Baffle-entry 3-cell plan with agricultural bay, now part of house, in line
on left. One storey, 4 bays. Four wall posts visible.C20 board door between
right-hand windows. Windows are C20 8-pane 2-light wooden casements. Roof
half-hipped on left with decorative ridge, and ridge stack in line with
door. Rear: 4 wall posts visible. Projecting semi-circular painted brick
and stone bread oven in line with chimney ; a window to each side; further
right a board door with small 4-pane window to its left. Right return:
framing truss has tie-beam, queen posts, collar and principal rafters.
Interior: large infilled fireplace; exposed framing in cross walls ; plaster
ceilings. Roof structure not visible at time of inspection (November 1989).
