(East side)
Fair Mile Hospital Chapel

Chapel. c.1870. By C.H. Howell. Red brick with some black and yellow brick
banding; Welsh slate roof. Cruciform plan with 7-bay nave, 2-bay transepts, and
2-bay chancel with apsidal end. Early English style. South end: ribbed door to
centre with 2-centre arched doorway in splayed 2-centre archway surround, with
gabled top. Lancet window to left and right. Bathstone quatrefoil window to
gable end. East side: ribbed door to right of centre of nave with 2-centre
arched doorway in splayed 2-centre archway surround with gabled top. 5 lancets
to left of nave. Paired lancet to right of nave. 2 lancers with trefoil window
to gable end to transept. Lancet windows to apse. Interior: late C19 pews.
Curved principal roof with king-posts.
