Rectory, now house. Built 1825 for Reverend Francis Haggett possibly
incorporating part of the earlier house of 1761. Roman-cement rendered walls and
some brick; Welsh-slate roofs with rendered and brick stacks. Double-depth plan
with service wing. 2 storeys. 4-window front breaks forward slightly in the
central section which has two 9-pane sashes above an enclosed porch with double
pilasters and flanking 6-panel double doors; outer bays have 9-pane sashes above
12-pane sashes which are set within rectangular recesses. Shallow hipped roof
has wide eaves with shaped brackets and panelled soffits. Lower brick service
wing extends one window to right and then returns to front in a 6-window range.
3-window left end wall of main range has a French window with margin lights, and
the 5-window garden front has a central semi-circular projection of 3 sashes,
some shuttered, and the outer bays have tripartite sashes at ground floor.
Interior: stair hall has open-well stair with ramped and wreathed mahogany
handrail. Bow-ended drawing room has a delicate cornice and a marble fireplace.
Large kitchen in service range has a flagged floor and panelled shutters.
