GV II

Millhouse. Early C19 incorporating C17 fragments. Limestone rubble with brick
dressings; Welsh-slate and old plain-tile roof with brick stacks. Central-stair
plan. 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window front of main block has a central
round-arched doorway, with 6-panel door, fanlight, and canopy on large square
posts, below a 12-pane sash; outer bays have 16-pane sashes. Shallow-pitched
hipped roof has wide boxed eaves and flanking stacks. Lower tiled single-unit
range to right, adjoining mill, has a secondary entrance and casements.
Interior: low range has stop-chamfered beams and joists, which are probably C17,
and a winder stair beside the chimney breast.
