18/07/63 (Formerly listed as The Swan


Hotel. Probably early C17, possibly incorporating an earlier structure; with
early C18 front, having later alterations. Red brick with flared headers in
Flemish bond; old plain-tile hipped roof with lead ridges; various brick stacks,
some to rear having diagonally set flues. U-shaped plan. 2 storeys and attic;
14-window range; 3:8:3, the 3 bays to both ends form cross-wings. 3-bay porch to
centre with hipped plain-tile roof, having 6-panel door to right and C20 glazed
doors to left. 8-panel round-headed door to left return of right cross-wing.
6-panel door to right return of left cross-wing having C20 porch. C20 metal
casements to all openings except 12-pane unhorned sashes to end of right
cross-wing. Flat brick band between ground and first floors. Rendered coved
eaves with painted cornice. Hipped dormers. Right return: coursed stone rubble
with brick dressings. 4-window range with 12-pane unhorned sashes. Interior:
dog-leg staircase from ground floor to attic, to centre; some ground floor rooms
have fielded panelling forming a dado to some walls; extensive timber framing
