Lodge, now house. Mid C19. Painted- stone moulded plinth; painted lined render,
probably on brick; Welsh slate roof, half-hipped to left; brick end stack to
right. Picturesque style. 2-storey, single-window range. 4-panel ribbed and
studded door with hood mould to left. C20 casement to original opening with hood
mould to right. 3-light casement to first floor right, with Gothick glazing
bars, hood mould, and gable forming false dormer. Concave moulded eaves,
Interior not inspected. Attached gateway of ribbed and studded wood carriage
gates with battlemented octagonal stone piers with flanking Tudor-arched
pedestrian wood ribbed and studded gates with hood moulds. Gates form the former
entrance to the Castle grounds. Included for group value.
