3/118 Former National School

1823 former National School. James Fidel, builder/architect. Coursed rubble
with ashlar dressings. Plain rectangular building with small south wing. One
storey schoolroom with 2-storey front. Gable ended cement slate roof overall.
One brick ridge stack. West front 2-window range with central door, plain stone
lintels and glazing bar windows. Oval plaque above and bracket for school bell.
5-window north elevation, blank west end window, glazing bar windows to rest,
lowered with added panes later in C19. Oval opening in east gable. South wing
with stone tiled roof.
