2/7 Hythe Cottage


House. Early C17 with late C17 extension to left. Originally timber-framed.
Rendered; gabled roof, with old tiles, and stone slate to rear left; large stone
ridge stack, originally end stack of early C17 house. One-unit extended to
3-unit plan. 2 storeys. One- extended to 4-window range. C20 door and windows:
2-light leaded casement to top left. Stair turret-at junction between ranges to
rear. Interior: timber-framed walls throughout. Earl C17 house has chamfered
ground-floor beam and chamfered braced tie beam. Late C17 extension has
chamfered beams, and jowled posts to 2-bay queen-post truss with windbraces:
timber-framed partition to winder stairs.
