south aisle; C14 north aisle, and Lady Chapel to south; C15 west tower,
reduction of central tower, and north and south porches; C19 rebuilding of north
porch and restoration of south porch, nave roof of c.1875. Stone and flint
mixture; stone ashlar to tower; old plain-tile roofs to Lady Chapel and chancel;
C20 plain-tile roofs to Lady Chapel and chancel; C20 plain-tile roof to nave;
lead roof to north aisle; roofs of south aisle and tower not visible. 2-bay
chancel, crossing, 2-bay north transept, 3-bay Lady Chapel, 5-bay nave and south
aisle, 2-bay north aisle, and west tower. Wood porch to centre of south aisle
with shallow gabled roof. Ribbed and studded door to 4-centre arched doorway
with foliate decoration to spandrels. 3-light panel tracery windows to left and
right of aisle: Lancet to left of Lady Chapel. 2-light reticulated tracery
windows to centre and right of Lady Chapel Y-tracery window to west end of
south aisle. 3-light reticulated tracery window to east end of Lady Chapel.
3-light reticulated tracery window to east end of chancel, with round window
above. North side: C19 flint porch with stone dressings to right of aisle.
Ribbed and studded door to 4-centre arched doorway with carved spandrels and
having hood mould. Worn carving above ends of hood moulds; image niche above
doorway with C19 carving of St. Michael, 2-light stone mullion window to left of
aisle with cusped lights and hood mould. Lancet to west end of aisle. Lancet to
north end of transept. 3-light reticulated tracery window to east side of
transept. Lancet to left of chancel. 2-light reticulated tracery window to right
of chancel. Romanesque lancet to right of nave. Tower: 3-stages. 4-light panel
tracery window to west face of first stage. 2-light panel tracery window to west
face of second stage. 2-light panel tracery louvred openings to each face of
third stage. Open quatrefoil stone balustrade to roof with cusped finials to
corners. Interior: rib-vault to chancel, and to central tower crossing, on
corbels. ciq piscina and sedilia to right of chancel. C15 choir stalls. C15
screen between chancel and Lady Chapel. North transept: arch-braced collar truss
roof; C15 rood loft door with blind Perpendicular tracery; re-sited altar stone
with-area of C14 encaustic tiles forming surround. Lady Chapel: 3-bay crown-post
roof; trefoil-headed piscina to right. Nave: 7-bay C19 arch-braced collar-truss
roof with curved windbraces; C15 octagonal stone font with quatrefoil panels to
each side of bowl. North arcade: two-centred arches. South arcade: 5 two-centred
arches, internal reveals on half-columns. Perpendicular lean-to roofs to north
and south aisles.
