House, now art gallery and dwelling. Early C17 cross-wing to left, early C18
main range, probably encasing earlier structure. Red brick with flared headers
in Flemish bond; timber-framing with rendered infill to first floor of
cross-wing; C20 plain-tile hipped roof with half-hipped gable end to cross-wing;
brick ridge stack to right of centre. 2-storey, 4-window range with
single-storey-and-attic cross-wing incorporated in left end and projecting
approximately half a metre. Plank doors to left of centre, and to right,
irregular fenestration of casements with leaded lights. Flat brick band between
ground and first floors of main range. Curved cornice to eaves of main range,
Interior: open fireplace to ground floor centre room. Much timber-framing
visible to ground floor.
