15/64 Hall Barn
House. Mid C17, with late C17 front to main range. Large timber-framing to
cross-wing, with rendered infill; painted brick to main range; old plain-tile
roof; brick end stack to left, and to end of cross-wing, ridge stack to
cross-wing, 2 storeys and attic; 3-window main range with 2-storey, 2-bay
single-window cross-wing to right. 6-panel part-glazed door to right of train
range with wood architrave surround. Main range bias Doric giant-order cut-brick
pilasters to left and right ends, and to left and right of centre, that to left
of centre interrupted by 4-light wood mullion and transom window to ground
floor. Blocked window opening to ground floor left with flat brick arch having
shaped lower edge. Shaped brick: band between around and first floors to left and
centre. Wood cross-windows to first floor, having leaded lights, that to left,
having flat brick arch with shaped lower edge. Painted wood dentil cornice to
eaves. Gabled full dormer to centre with wood cross-window having leaded lights.
Left return of cross-wing to right: 3-light wood mullion and transom window to
ground floor. 4-light casement to first floor. Interior not inspected but likely
to be of interest.
