Church. C12 nave; C13 chancel; west tower c.1564; late C19 north nave wall
rebuilt and new nave, chancel, and south aisle built so original church became
north aisle and chapel. Squared coursed stone; roughcast, probably on stone
rubble to chancel; stone slate roof; roof of tower not visible. North side. C19
plank door to Romanesque doorway at right of centre of north aisle with C19
gabled porch. 2-light stone mullion window to right with cusped lights. 3-light
stone mullion window to left with ogee-headed lights. Two 2-light stone mullion
windows with ogee-headed lights to north chapel. Y-tracery window to east end of
north chapel. Tower: 3-light stone mullion window with hood mould to west side
of tower lower stage. 2-light stone mullion louvred opening with hood mould to
each side of upper stage. Battlemented parapet. Nave and south aisle have late
C19 fenestration, mostly of reticulated tracery. Interior: collar truss roof to
north chapel; arch-braced collar truss roof of 3 bays to north aisle. Sedilia to
right of north aisle. Romanesque font to north aisle. Good collection of wall
monuments to north aisle. Nave and south aisle have late C19 eight-bay Queen
strut roofs.
