2 cottages. Late C16 /early C17. Originally timber framed; squared chalk
brought to course on ground floor, rendered concrete block over; rear and side
walls in uncoursed chalk rubble; thatched roof; brick stacks. 2-unit (Cross
Trees) and one-unit (Jessomin) plans, rear outshut built when timber frame clad
in chalk. 2-storey,. 5-window range. Timber lintels over doors and casements.
Gabled and hippped roof, end stacks. Interior: Deep chamfered beams with splay
stops; wood bressumers over open fireplaces.
