GV II


House. Late C16 to mid C17, converted into 2 cottages in late C18. Originally
timber framed with wattle and daub infill; probably encased in brick in late
C18 with brick to the rear and uncoursed to the front and side walls; thatched
roof, brick stacks. Original 2-bay plan extended in late C18 with outshut. 1
1/2-storey, 2-window range. C20 door adjoining C20 window blocking former door.
Rear has C20 casements flanking central door; symmetrical gable-end stacks,
hipped roof. C20 single bay and one storey block weatherboaded over timber
frame, against gable wall. Interior: open fireplaces adjoining stairs, one of
which is late C20, the other of quarter turn type, late C18. 2-bay, roof with
collar truss and butt purlins.
