Farmhouse. Early C17, modified and extended to right in late C19.Uncoursed
Sarsen rubble with chalk quoins. Only part of original plan form survives. 2
1/2-storey, one-window range to C17 block. Ovolo-moulded and stopped wood
lintels over 3 and 4-light leaded casements. Gabled roof, lateral left stack.In
late C19 the right side of the C17 block was demolished [no quoining survives]
and an extension built; coursed chalk rubble, brick dressing Welsh slate roof:
2 storey, 3-window range, segmental arches with brick dressings to 2-light
casements and 6-panelled door with over lights to left. Interior : late C19
doors and straight-flight staircase but no C17 features except collar truss at
right angles to front and adjoining late C19 extensioni the original C17 house
extended further to the right. Mid C19 service wing in flemish bond brick, with
flared headers to rear left retains original leaded casements and planked
doors.
