House. Early C17, later C17 one-bay extension. Timber framed. Rendered over
front, square framing exposed to rear. Thatched roof; brick stacks. Original
2-unit plan extended to 3 units in late C17. 2-storey, 5-window range. C20
porch and door. 3-light C18 leaded casements with moulded wood architraves to
original early C17 front; other windows are C20 imitations, except one 3- light
and one 2-light C18 leaded casements and one 4-light wood-mullioned casement to
rear of early C17 block, and 2-light C18 leaded casement to right side wall.
Gabled roof, original triple-flue ridge stack and late C17 left end stack now
set in ridge. Interior: C18 and C19 planked and 2-panelled doors, chamfered
bressumer over open fireplace in left room; chamfered and stopped beams
throughout, but recent joists; quarter-turn and straight-flight stairs to front
left and rear right; queen strut truss over left end wall of original early C17
house; rest of roof not inspected but is probably of interest. C20 extensions
to rear right and against left gable wall of late C17 extension.
