8/17 The Lamb Public House
GV II
House, now public house. Mid C16. Rear wing remodelled c.1890; early C19 front
range. Coursed limestone rubble; Welsh slate roof; brick stacks. L-plan. 2
storey;; 4-window range. Timber lintels over 6-panelled door to left and sashes.
Gabled roof to left, hipped to right; left end stack, lateral stack to rear
adjoining rear wing. Gabled wing to rear was originally timber-framed but c,1890
it was rendered, the first floor demolished and also extended by one bay to the
rear. Interior: Front half of rear wing has cyma-moulded beam over the fireplace
and linenfold panelling. First floor of front range not inspected. Attached to
left gable wall of front range is a 2-storey coach house of coursed limestone
rubble with Welsh slate roof; timber lintel over blocked double opening. Early
C19 brewhouse attached to rear wall of rear wing.
