2/64 Ragnell Farmhouse


Farmhouse. Early C18. Coursed limestone rubble, limestone ashlar quoins, brick
window and door dressings; stone slate roof; brick stacks. Central staircase
plan. 2 storeys; 5-window range. Segmental brick arch with keystone over late
C19 four-panelled (2 glazed) door; late C19 gabled porch. Similar arches over
late C19 two-pane sashes. Brick plinth course and storey band in Flemish bond
with flared headers links sills of first floor windows. Two gabled dormers.
Gabled roof; gable end stacks. Contemporary outshut to rear left with late C19
sash and plank door. Late C19 one storey and attic extension to rear right
blocks original gabled dormer. Interior: Original plan form and collar truss
roof with butt purlins survive but other features are late C19 and C20.
