2/70 Lime Tree East and Lime Tree


Two cottages. Late C17/early C18. Coursed limestone rubble; thatched roof; brick
stacks except stone ridge stack finished in brick. Original plan form not
determined. One storey and attic; 4-window range. Timber lintels over one C19
plank door, one C20 door and C20 two-light casements. C20 two- and 3-light
casements to 3 half dormers. Gabled roof; 2 gable end and one ridge stacks. C19
plank door and two-light leaded casement to rear. Interior: Lime Tree West has
full set of chamfered and stopped beams, chamfered bressumer over open fireplace
and winders to straight-flight stairs adjoining stack. 2-bay collar-truss roof.
Interior of Lime Tree East not inspected.
