5/228 Stone's Farmhouse


Farmhouse, now house. C17. Coursed limestone rubble; old tile roof; limestone
rubble stack. 2-unit lobby entry plan. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Chamfered
timber lintel over C19 plank door; late C19 gable porch. Chamfered timber
lintels, except new lintel to left, over C20 casements. Gabled roof; ridge
stack. Mid C20 extension to rear left and mid C19 tiled outshut to centre rear
with 2 mid C19 two-light casements. Interior: C19 and C20 plank doors. Room to
right has full set of chamfered and stopped beams and wood bressumer over open
fireplace; room to left has cyma-stopped beam, plain wood bressumer over
fireplace and quarter turn stairs. First-floor room to left has chamfered wood
bressumer over open fireplace. Little of original roof structure survives.
