7/148 Former Urban District Council
House, now offices. c.1830. Flared header bond brick with red brick dressings;
Welsh slate roof; brick stacks. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys; 3-window range.
Pedimented central bay has 2-storey porch with Doric columns and cornice to
keyed stone lintel over C20 door with stained glass overlight; similar lintel
over first-floor sash flanked by pilasters; and sashes to other window.
Bracketed wood cornice. Hipped roof; ridge stack. Similar details to sashes of
3-window range side walls; left side wall has sashes opening onto verandah.
Interior not inspected: previous location of market cross, since removed to
No.19 Church Street.
