Known as St. Andrew's School.
House. c.1730. Flemish bond brick with flared headers, red brick quoins and
dressings; C20 tile roof to front, old tile roof to rear; brick stacks.
Double-depth plan. 2 storeys and attic; 5-window range. Moulded stone flat hood
and pilasters to C18 six-panelled door with overlight set in beaded architrave.
C18 sashes, with glazing bars of lower sashes removed, to all windows.
Ground-floor sashes have gauged brick flat arches with ogee- and wave-moulded
soffits and gauged brick floating cornices with wave-moulded soffits. Moulded
cornice. C18 two-light leaded casements to 3 gabled roof dormers. Gabled
M-shaped roof; gable end stacks. C18 sashes to left and right side walls. Stone
lintels over C18 sashes and 6-panelled door with overlight to rear. Interior:
c.1730 two- and 6-panelled doors throughout. c.1730 panelling to left room and
to-hall. Fine quarter-turn stairs have turned balusters on open string, fluted
newel posts, carved brackets, ramped handrails and early C18 latticed door to
cupboard beneath. First-floor left has c.1730 panelling; early C18 fireplaces to
right. Attic has 2-panelled doors and common-rafter roof.
