1/32 Stonehill House and attached


Farmhouse, now house. Dated 1737 in plasterwork of attic bedroom; probably late
C18 encasement; early C20 alterations and additions. Red brick with random
flared headers, in Flemish bond; old plain-tile hipped roof; brick ridge stacks
to left and right returns of main range. 2 storeys and attic; 5-window original
range, with early C20 2-storey, 2-bay addition to left. 6-panel door to centre
of original range with decorative fan-light and pediment-gabled hood on moulded
brackets, Early C20 two-light wood mullion and transom windows to all openings,
those to ground floor with segmental brick heads. Brick dentil course to eaves.
2 hipped full dormers with 2-light casements. Interior: dog-leg staircase with
landings from ground floor to attic, at rear centre, tiff panelled doors with C18
hinges to most rooms. Attached outbuilding, part former stables, now garages.
C17, encased C18, altered C19 and C20. Brick; old plain tile roofs of various
heights; wood ventilation cowl to left, Single-storey, 9-bay range. Irregular
fenestration. included for group value.
