Group of 4 chest tombs. Late C18, early C19, and early-mid C19. Stone.
Moulded plinths and bases; chests have recessed corners with pilasters, the
2nd from north tomb having vase balusters instead; moulded side panels;
moulded lids. Inscriptions are worn and the tombs ivy-covered but some of
the inscriptions can be deciphered: - the 1st (northernmost) tomb
commemorates Richard Gerring, d.1837, inscription on south side; the 2nd
tomb commemorates Robert Gerring, d. 1818, inscription on south side on
raised panel with decoration below and to sides; the 3rd tomb commemorates
Robert Gerring, inscription on north side; the 4th tomb has date of
death 1784, inscription on north side.
