House. Early-mid C18, altered C19 and C20. Rubblestone with red brick
quoins and bands forming cross-shaped panels (some blue headers); right
return of red brick with blue headers in Flemish bond, the gable of
rubblestone. C20 concrete tile roof. Brick stack. 2 storeys with cellar
and attic, 2 bays. Plinth. On left, semi-circular stone step up to board
door having strap hinges with leaf terminals and 2- pane overlight in wooden
architrave; flat brick arch; console-bracketed canopy. 2-light window over
door with original flat brick arch; 3-light windows with later segmental
brick arches to right bay; all windows have wooden mullions and transoms
with 2-pane lights below 4-pane overlights. Pent-roofed 2-light dormer.
Corniced stack at right end. Rear: On right, stair wing with C20 cross-
window below original flat brick arch, and swept hipped roof. C20 lean-to
addition and dormer not of special interest. Interior: right-hand room has
C18 panelling, brick fireplace, and semi-domed shelved niche with cherub-
painted ceiling; H-hinged panelled cupboard doors.

Good open-well, open-string, stair having bulbous turned balusters, columnar
newel, moulded tread ends (similar in design to the brackets carrying front
door canopy) and moulded, ramped handrail sweeping round at bottom; old
board cellar door below stair has leaf-terminals to strap hinges; at foot of
stair, double arch with central floating capital. Doors of 2 raised and
fielded panels on stair landing and at head of stair. C18 panelled
cupboards to 1st-floor right-hand room. Roof has wide-spaced queen-strut,
collared, trusses and through purlins.
