House. C17, remodelled in the C19 of rubblestone with a gabled slate roof and
ridge stone stack. Three storeys, 2-window range: the 2 bay house has an easterly
one bay projection over the top of Distons Lane forming an archway. Two sashes
to top floor, that to the W without glazing bars. Two large pane sashes to first
and ground floor W of central door and a 20-pane sash on the first floor and
12-pane sash to ground floor E of the door. The archway room has a 12-pane sash.
C19 part glazed reeded panel door with a gabled porch on wooden columns and above
this a datestone: 'Thomas Frayne Anno Domini 1635'. There is a further datestone
on the rear wall. Inside in the SW room is an early C17 fireplace with an obtuse
angled head and chambered jambs giving onto the external chimney stack.
