12/43 Group of 3 headstones approx.
3m. E of chancel of Church of
St. Michael and All Angels
GV II

3 headstones. Early C18. Marlstone. Baroque style. Southern pair have similar
decoration with swelling oval panels framed by drapery, cherubs and palm leaves;
inscriptions illegible. Headstone to north has earlier-style decoration of a
square acanthus-framed panel flanked by scrolls; the upper half has further
scrolls and an acanthus cornice arching over a winged cherub head. The
inscription is largely illegible but commemorates "Church" or "Churchill".
