3m. to 7m. S of chancel of
Church of St. Michael and All
Angels

4 headstones. 1691, 1698, 1704 and late C18. Marlstone. The air nearest the
chancel in Baroque style: one with rectangular panel with bolection frame,
flanked by drops of fruit and flowers below an egg-and-dart cornice (inscription
largely illegible but dated 1691); the other a rectangular panel framed by
drapery commemorates Nicholas Ros (died 1704). Headstone furthest from chancel
has an oval cartouche surrounded by scrolls, and commemorates Catherine, wife of
Nicholas Ros (died 1698). Late C18 headstone is not of special architectural
interest.
