House and outbuilding, now partly estate office. C17, probably altered early
C19. C20 alterations. Limestone rubble with marlstone-ashlar dressings;
Stonesfield-slate roof with limestone-ashlar and rendered brick gable stacks.
L-plan. 2 storeys plus attics. Main range has a central hipped-roofed stair
projection with narrow leaded windows rising to attic, flanked at ground floor
by 3-light stone-mullioned windows with labels; at first floor there is a
2-light mullion window to left, but the right bay has been raised, though with a
lower ridge. Wing projecting from left has a flat-arched doorway and a 3-light
mullioned window facing right, and has two 2-light mullioned windows in the
front gable wall. Both ranges have gable parapets and large projecting chimneys.
4 lean-to addition to left of the projecting range has a 4-light leaded casement
and links with a long outbuilding range running to left under a corrugated-iron
roof, which has some pointed slits and a 2-light stone-mullioned window with
wooden lattices. Interiors not inspected.
