Row of 4 cottages and small houses. C17, re-modelled and extended early C19.
Coursed squared marlstone with ashlar dressings; thatch roof with
limestone-ashlar stacks. One-and 2-unit plans. One storey plus attic. Middle
bays of 6-unit range are probably C17 and have two 2-light stone-mullioned
windows with labels at ground floor; bays to right have early C19 windows with
chamfered stone surrounds, labels and inserted C20 stone mullions; remaining
ground-floor windows have all been renewed as 2-light stone-mullioned windows. 5
first-floor windows all have C20 chamfered stone surrounds. 3 entrances on front
have chamfered basket-arched surrounds and labels with lozenge stops, partly
renewed; all are probably early C19. Entrance to No.15 in left return. Roof has
three C20 ridge stacks and continues over an outshut against the right gable
wall. Interiors largely rebuilt but retaining a few fireplaces.
