SANDFORD ST MARTIN
MANOR ROAD (North side)
The Old Post Office, Beech View Cottage, Harris Cottage and The Old Forge

GV
II
Row of four cottages. Late C18, posssibly with earlier elements. Limestone and marlstone rubble with wooden lintels; Welsh-slate roof with brick ridge stacks. One- and two-unit plans, probably with rear outshuts.

Two storeys. Cottages have two-window fronts: the outer cottages with central doors between three-light casements; the inner pair with adjoining doors and one ground floor casement. First-floor windows all of two lights. All casements are old and most retain leaded glazing. The Old Forge has stop-chamfered lintels, and Beech View Cottage has a heavy chamfered oak doorframe. Shallow-pitched half-hipped roof has two shared stacks.

Interiors not inspected.

Included for group value.
