14/161 The Old Vicarage


Vicarage, now house. C18 and early C19, extended C20. Limestone and marlstone
rubble; Welsh-slate roofs with brick stacks. 2-unit plan with rear wing. 2
storeys. 4-window front of C19 range, with blind windows in the right bay, has a
4-panel door and decorative overlight with a pilastered stone doorcase between
12-pane sashes, and has 3 similar windows at first floor. Shallow-pitched hipped
roof has boxed eaves with wooden brackets. Right end wall rids a tripartite sash
over a French window with margin lights. Walls were formerly stuccoed. 2-window
C18 wing and C20 extension both face right. Interior not inspected. Included for
group value.
