House. Datestone 1720. Coursed limestone rubble; gabled stone slate roof; end
stacks of stone finished in brick. 3-unit central-staircase plan. 2 storeys;
symmetrical 5-window range. Fine stone shell hood over early C19 six-panelled
door with overlight. Keyed flat stone arches over four late C18 six-pane sashes
to right and early C18 cross windows to left. Rear outshut: 3-light
ovolo-moulded wood-mullioned window and 2-light chamfered wood-mullioned
windows. Adjoins late C18/early C19 two-storey block of similar materials to
left. Interior: panelled shutters and early C18 bolection panelled doors.
Stop-chamfered beam and remodelled open fireplace to left. Dog-leg with winders
stair has fine turned balusters on closed string. Panelled dado and scribed beam
to right. First floor: panelled dado and window seats and eared architrave to
fireplace in room on right; ribbed doors and panelled cupboards to left.
Butt-purlin roof.
