16/63 The Merry Horn Public House

- II

House, now public house. Early C18, with mid C18 extension to left. Coursed
limestone rubble; gabled stone slate roof; C18 brick right end stack; left range
has stone ridge stack. 2-, extended to 4-unit plan. 2-storey-and-attic, 2-window
range to right has timber lintels over central C20 door and C20 windows; gabled
roof dormers. Mid C18 two-storey bay to left has flat stone arches over C20 door
and late C19 two-light casement above early C19 eight-pane sash. Early C19 range
to right of similar materials and 2-storey, 2-window range. Interior: early C18
block has stop-chamfered beams, and partition beam on ground floor; early C18
butt-purlin roof. C19 quarter-turn stairs to left.
