8/336 The Willows
2 cottages, now house. C17, with late C19 and C20 alterations. Originally
timber-framed. C18 coursed limestone rubble; late C19 brick walling to left end
wall and left bay; gabled thatch roof; end stacks, rendered to left and of brick
to right. 4-unit plan. One storey and attic; 4-window range. Timber lintels over
C20 doors and casements; C20 dormer casements. C18 stone and thatch outshut to
rear right; C20 outshut to rear left. Interior: central C17 timber-framed
chimney stack, a rare survival. Chamfered central beam. Early C18 fireplace with
chamfered bressumer and 2-bay queen-post roof with clasped purlins to right.
