17/56 Former stable approx. 15m NNW
of Finstock Manor House

GV II

Stable, latterly pigstyes, now disused. Early C18, converted to pigstyes
probably in the late C18 or early C19. Coursed limestone rubble with stone slate
roof. One storey and loft. Three doorways with wooden lintels, that to right
with boarded door. Later (see straight joints) rubblestone pens in front of 2
left-hand doors. Left-hand gable end has boarded loft door with wooden lintel
and dovecote in apex consisting of 3 holes with stone ledges. Interior not
inspected. Included for group value.
