County Hall and Law Courts, now Social Security Office. 1848. Limestone ashlar;
flat roof not visible; stone ashlar stacks. Baroque style. One storey; 4-window
range. Projecting and rusticated central bay has keyed and cavetto-moulded
semi-circular arched architrave to 6-panelled door. Margin-light sashes set in
semi-circular-arched and blocked architraves; moulded band at impost level.
Bracketed cornice beneath parapet, surmounted by Royal Arms. The former law
courts, with small windows beneath eaves, are situated to the rear. Interior not
