House. C15; extended one bay to right and remodelled C17. Cruck built. Coursed
limestone rubble; gabled thatch roof; brick end and ridge stacks. 3-unit plan.
One storey and attic; 4-window range. Stop-chamfered timber lintel over C17
plank door with strap hinges, and chamfered timber lintel over old plank door to
right. Timber lintels over C20 and late C19 casements to ground floor and swept
dormers; C18 three-light wood-mullioned window with leaded-lights to left and
C18 two-light wood-mullioned window to right. 2-light wood-mullioned stair light
to rear. C20 extension to right. Mid C19 brick outshut with tile roof to left.
Interior: C15 house has 2 raised crucks with chamfered collars and trenched
purlins; windbraces removed when eaves raised in C17. Stop-chamfered beams of
inserted C17 floor; open fireplaces with stop-chamfered bressumers to central
C17 stack; central room has C17 stop-chamfered doorframe to newel stairs and C17
cupboard with sliding door. Room to right has stop-chamfered beam and flat-laid
joists.
