Farmhouse. Late C17 central block, with late C17/early C18 block to right and
mid C18 block to left. Coursed limestone rubble; gabled stone slate roof; C19
brick end stacks and large stone lateral stack to rear of left block. 2-unit
plan with central passage extended to 4-unit plan. Central block of 2-storey,
3-window range. Late C17 carved brackets support pediment hood over C19
four-panelled door set in beaded heavy pegged frame. Timber lintels over late
C17/earlv C18 wood-mullioned and transomed cross window and C19 two-light
wood-mullioned window to left. Taller 2-storey, one-window ranges to sides:
range to left has timber lintel over mid C18 nine-pane sash; range to right has
C18 gabled hood over C19 half-glazed door, and timber lintels over C19 and C20
two-light casements. Later C18 two-storey service wing. Interior: chamfered
beams throughout and noted as having collar-truss roofs with butt purlins.
Central block has fine late C17 oak-panelled roam to left, C17 stop-chamfered
doorframe to rear of passage and late C17 open-well stairs with turned balusters
set on closed string and cupboard beneath with panelled door. Left block has
reset C17 panelling on ground floor, and noted as having fine early/mid C18
panelled room on first floor.
