1/267 The Old Rectory
Vicarage, now house. 1856 by S.S. Teulon. Squared and coursed limestone with
ashlar dressings; gabled artificial stone slate roof; lateral stone stacks.
Double-depth plan. Domestic Gothic style. Two-storey front. Central porch with
cusped woodwork and canted roof; plank door with wrought-iron hinges set in
pointed chamfered doorway. Shallow pointed-arched architraves to one-light sash
over door and 2-light sashes in left gable projection. Flush gable to right has
external stack. Double-gabled right side wall has similar windows and canted bay
window. Two-storey range with half-hipped roof and one-storey range with stone
end stack to left. Interior: panelled doors to rooms opening from hexagonal
hall. Dog-leg staircase with pierced Gothic-style balustrade.
