East Formal Gardens
GV II
Sundial. c.1710; designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor. Limestone. Vase-shaped
pedestal, with acanthus-leaf carving to base and carved swags. Brass dial has
ducal coronet set in gnomon. Pedestal carved by Henry Banks and dial made by
John Rowley.
