6/63 No.15 and No.17 (Well Cottage)
GV II
Semi-detached cottages. No.17 to right is dated 1739, with C19 alterations and
additions. Limestone rubble. C20 cement tile roof; brick right end stack.
Double-depth plan. 2 storeys; one-window range. Small one-light casement on
left. Blocked former doorway on left has casement inserted. Small one-light
window to left. C19 two-light casements have horizontal glazing bars. Datestone
has initials TMM. Lean-to addition on right has C20 half-glazed door. All
openings have painted wood lintels. No.15 to left is probably mid/late C18.
Part-glazed door on right is recessed beneath painted wood lintel. Casements, of
3-lights to ground floor and 2-lights above, have horizontal glazing bars. Right
range has stone flat arch to ground floor; other windows have painted wood
lintels. Interiors not inspected.
