4/91 Choicehill Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse, now 2 dwellings. Early C18, altered C19. Coursed limestone rubble
with ashlar dressings; concrete plain-tile and Welsh-slate roofs with brick
gable stacks. L plan. 2 storeys plus attic. Symmetrical 3-window front has
16-pane first-floor sashes with flush architraves and projecting keyblocks, but
at ground floor has canted C19 bay windows flanking the C20 porch which shelters
the flush-architraved doorway. Steep-pitched roof has 2 renewed roof dormers.
Added lower service bay to right. Rear has a long stair window and several tall
windows with ashlar flat arches and projecting keyblocks, now mostly blocked.
3-window rear wing, returning from left end, has further tall windows, some
retaining leaded cross casements. Rear gable has a stone parapet. Interior not
inspected.
