range to E

GV II

Barns and farmbuildings. Early C18. Coursed squared limestone with wooden
lintels; Stonesfield-slate roof. 3- and 5-bay barns plus a 3-bay stable/granary
and a dairy section; barns and granary form a continuous 11-bay range of one
build. Each barn has opposed central doors; the taller central entry now partly
infilled with a brick dovecote. Rear of granary section, to left, has an
external stair. A lower dairy section, to left of the main range, links to rear
wing of Choicehill Farmhouse (q.v.), Interior: barn trusses, with tiebeams and
collars, support 2 rows of butt purlins.
