Broadwell Manor

GV II
Range of stables, part now used as garage. Part to left is early C19, part to
right mid C19. Coursed rubble limestone with semi-dressed quoins. Early C19 part
is lower and has stone slate roof. 2 bays, each having a small window with
segmental head of dressed stone and sliding slatted shutters. Left bay has
stable door with wooden lintel; right bay has altered vehicle entry. Interior
has cobbled floor with drain and feeding trough, and double purlin roof on
trusses with raking struts and collars. 2 stallion boxes. Mid C19 part to right,
has Welsh slate roof and loft. Side to yard has stable windows flanking central
entry which has been widened for vehicle, and small off-centre loft door at
eaves level, with gable over. Right end has stone steps up to loft door, and
high vent slit. Included for group value.
