House and cottage. Cottage by the Church has original block of C17-early C18
date, with small C20 link to late C18-early C19 wing. Coursed rubble limestone
with stone slate roofs and rebuilt stone chimneys. Original block is of 2
storeys and attic, and 2 bays. 3-light chamfered stone mullion windows with
Tudor hoodmoulds; central hipped roof dormer with 2-light leaded casement. Also
to centre is a board door in chamfered stone surround with flat stone slab hood
on shaped stone brackets. Later C18 extension projects at angle to left, of 2
lower storeys and one bay, with chimney to left. Attached to rear corner of
original right bay is C20 link with re-used arched window over door. Later
C18-C19 wing at angle to right, formerly separate cottages, is of 2 storeys and
3 bays, and has 2-light wooden casements with wooden lintels, and door. This
wing has further early C19 extensions, now Woodbine Cottage, at south end, also
of coursed rubble limestone with stone slate roofs. These extensions consist of
2 2-storey bays. South bay has east front with 2-light barred wooden casements,
the lower window with flat stone arch, and board door in C20 porch. Cottage by
the Church has fireplace with dressed stone jambs in right bay.
