GV II
House. Probably early-mid C18 in origin, raised early C19, with small early C19
wing of different build forming L-plan. Coursed rubble limestone, the early C19
wing with front of squared and coursed stone, and rendered rear wall. Stone
slate roofs, external rubble stone chimney to front gable end of original wing.
2 storeys. Original wing is of 2 bays, and has early C20 2-light wooden
casements with old wooden lintels in right return. Central blocked doorway has
similar casement, and shares simple stone slab hood with C20 door in early C19
wing. This projects from far bay and has one similar casement to first floor,
and altered ground floor with later C20 2-light wooden casement. Attached to
right end of wing is a C20 single storey roughcast extension linking house with
former outbuilding, now garage. Interior of original wing has very small moulded
stone fireplace, probably re-used, dated "WAFS Agust the 6 : 1612". Ceiling beam
and joists in same room are slightly chamfered and stopped. Attached to front
corner of house is an early C19 fence of upright limestone slabs.
