GV II

House. Mid-to late C18 with later additions and alterations. Roughly coursed
limestone rubble; stone slate roof. L-plan with gabled range under separate roof
pitches to rear on left. 2 storeys and gable-lit attic. Slightly asymmetrical
2-window front; 3-light C19 casements with stepped ogee-stopped chamfered wood
lintels. Infilled doorway with casement inserted to centre. 3 late C20
roof-lights. Integral end stacks with dripstones and rendered red brick shafts.
Tie beam ends visible to eaves. Interior not inspected at time of resurvey (May
1987) but right ground-floor room noted as having panelled window shutters and
said to have chamfered ceiling beams and inglenook fireplaces to both
ground-floor rooms of main range. C20 gabled additions to right and in angle to
rear on right are not of special architectural interest. Included for group
value.
