Farmhouse, now house. Late C17 with later additions and alterations, extended
late C20. Uncoursed limestone rubble with alternating angle quoins; machine tile
roof. Basic U-plan before C20 additions comprising 2-unit wain range with long
gabled range at right angles to rear on right under different roof pitches with
another gabled range at right-angles to this, running parallel with main range.
C20 addition to right of main range and contemporary flat-roofed extension in
angle to rear are not of special architectural interest. 3 storeys and gable-lit
attic. Main range has two C19 three-light casements with wood lintels on each
floor. Integral end stack with dripstone to left and another to right at
junction with C20 addition, rebuilt C20 but retaining dripstone. Back wall has
leaded 4-light chamfered wooden mullion window to back wall. Semi-circular
stone-capped bread oven projection to gable end of range at right-angles to
rear. Interior: right ground-floor room of main range has inglenook fireplace
with stop-chamfered wood lintel. Position of winder staircase to right and
chamfered spine beam with stepped ogee stop. Similar spine beam ground-floor
rooms. Remodelled open fireplace with bread oven to rear. First floor has wide
floor boards, stepped stack to rear, chamfered spine beam in front rooms and
parts of collar truss roof structure visible.
