7/41 Higgons memorial approx. 8m S
of SW corner of Church of St.
Chest tomb. Circa 1811. Limestone. Rectangular with moulded plinth, capping and
cavetto-moulded top. Moulded oval inscription panels with rosettes to spandrels;
corner pilasters, those on south with hanging garlands. Oval inscription panels
also to ends. Inscription on north side commemorates John Higgons (d.1811);
inscriptions to other members of Higgons family to other sides.
